I'm a big fan of the original ColdFusion Builder. I decided to give the CFBuilder 2 Public Beta a try. So far I love it, except for one nagging thing. The performance of this is so sluggish at times it makes it unusable. It will hit me with a "Refresh Content" notice with a high amount of regularity, sometimes multiple times inside of a minute. And during that time, performance slows to a crawl.
I did some looking around for solutions, but nothing so far has addressed this. I can run CFBuilder without issue. And my machine is more than capable of running both at the same time, but this happens even when I run it alone.
I run the standalone versions of both and am on OS X 10.6.
Anyone else running into this issue with the beta?

I'd recommend making sure you are using a clean workspace to start with.
Also I'd recommend you file a bug or talk about it in our forums:
bugbase.adobe.com
forums.adobe.com/community/labs/coldfusionbuilder2
That way the engineers can get ahold of you and really try and get this problem to go away.

How large a file are you editing?
What are your system specs?
I don't tend to see much slowdown when I use B2, but my files are not incredibly huge, and I have a pretty beefy system.

Also, I've found that you can improve performance a little bit by disabling the "build server settings" option on CFB startup and server startup, and have it only happen when you add/refresh a server: https://skitch.com/fusiongrokker/rwy2c/preferences...

My Macbook Pro is only a couple of months old, and the specs are: 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM. OS X 10.6.6. I keep my system as up to date as possible. At any one time I have at least 1 GB of free memory, up to 3+ GB if you include inactive as free.
I started with a clean install of CFB2, and I use the standalone version for both CFB and CFB2. There are occasions that I will run both at the same time because I have two distinct sets of projects and have a separate workspace for each one. But that is not all that often.
The files I am editing are anywhere from 100-800 lines of code. CFM and CFC templates. Size doesn't seem to matter much here.
I already had server settings rebuilding on server start and refresh, as suggested. I did have a thought that it was code assist at work, so I just I went in and unchecked the automatic displaying of code assist. I'll use it manually via ctrl-space for the time being and see if that helps.
The next time this starts happening, I'll be sure to capture video of my desktop to pass along to the bug team if they are interested. I'll also keep more abreast on what is triggering it so I can be of more use to the developers as well.
I do have anywhere from 6-15 projects open at any one time, sometimes of of laziness and sometimes because I am bouncing between multiple projects a lot.

I then did this on a system of mine that had the same issue and this worked. So what the issue for use may revolve around is a corrupt workspace and/or project setting files.
hope this helps.
Oh these are Win7 64bit machines

Try after turning off auto indentation settings in the preferences->ColdFusion->Profiles->Editor->Typing. If you still see performance issues and if you have word wrap enabled then try after turning off that too.
